Album Rating: 3.5
Much-hyped 'BBC Sound Of 2013' poll-winners Haim come through with the goods on their long-awaited debut LP 'Days Are Gone'. The 3 young L.A. sisters perform Indie-pop/rock, but with a deft balance of retro & modern attributes. Co-produced with Ariel Rechtshaid or James Ford, there is deceptively exquisite detail to the production here, which places Haim above many a pop act & enhances the album's replay value. It's not exactly innovative, is front-loaded & thematically repetitive, but it's impressive how natural the melodies & harmonies come on this charming, likeable & accomplished debut. Recommended Tracks: The Wire, My Song 5, Forever & Falling.
