have you heard Charlie and Teeny Shiny yet?

Nope, those 2 and Scratch are the ones I haven’t heard. This and Cell-Scape are my go-to releases and I dig Squeak periodically. I gave Bambi’s Dilemma a 3/5 but remember very little, so should probably revisit that one.

Lol Bambi's slaps, even if the sequencing is hilariously broken - defs worth a revisit ;] Charlie is like Cell-Scape's heaviest bits turned up to 11 and Teeny Shiny is just groovy af

new album update: apparently all instrumentals are tracked but they've got some vocal parts left to do - will probs be out end of this year or start of 2021

These guys work as fast as some of their track lengths suggest. Speed of light.
|

might have to check these guys out again. heard them for the first time like 12 years ago or something and wasn't impressed at all. I'm less averse to highly noisy music these days though so maybe I'll dig?

Did you check Cell-Scape?
|

I heard some random song that I'm guessing was from one of their 90s albums and decided it was way too noise-rocky for my tastes.
listening to the track Candy Gun right now and it's pretty damn cool gotta say. might check the rest of the album out.

mmm I think everything pre-Teeny Shiny kinda requires you to like noise or grind to some degree; this one is so polished it's more of a case of "do you like energy"
|
| |
yeah I've never been super into either of those genres before. wild and whacko and high energy goes down well though. just always had the impression that noise kind of plays the role of disguising bad song-writing but that's me being totally unfair tbh ^^

"that noise kind of plays the role of disguising bad song-writing but that's me being totally unfair"
um yeah haha let's not go there - I'd say almost everything this band has done since Charlie has watertight songwriting ;]
|
| |
hahaha yeah I'm absolutely positive it's got nothing to do with that. however that's what I felt back in the day and as such never really explored the genre much. might have some repenting to do.

Have you listened to stuff like Big Black, The Jesus Lizard, or mclusky perhaps osmark?
|

Mclusky yes. 100% swag with that band.

Well they’re noise rock in part, no? I guess it manifests itself in different ways, the intensity/song-writing/err... noisy-ness varies greatly, but that’s an ‘in’ if ever I’ve seen one. Check those others bands though, classic hardcore-influenced (and influential) noisy punk-tinged rock that has more than enough recognisable structure to sink your teeth into.
I’m probably saying obvious (easily researchable) stuff here, I’m not an expert myself.
