So happy to be getting back into this band. I really wish Wilson would revisit stuff like this.

I feel like a continuation from The Incident would have been much more interesting and fresh as far as SW's catalogue goes

Wilson did continue it, with his solo career. The weird experimental electronic stuff that was creeping into Blank Planet and The Incident fully got out of his system with Insurgentes, and then he returned to prog again.

Ideally, I'd be interested to see his sound if he ditched prog entirely or mostly, like storm corrosion but on his own

I would love more Storm Corrosion. You could check out Wilson's other side projects that don't focus on just prog, like No-Man and Bass Communion that are more art rock/trip hop.

Storm Corrosion is a real oddity in Wilson's discog. In a very good way.

I wouldn't call the electronics he was using on those later albums experimental. They were just supplementary to his songwriting.

They're not wildly experimental but Insurgentes is pretty weird and has elements of drone and experimental.

He opened the second set of his show a few days ago with Dark Matter. It was a brilliant performance

The opening song to his second set varies, I think; I've read he has played Drag Ropes, but also Open Car and Dark Matter.

And they played The Sound of Muzak as part of the encore. The shows are worth it, really, nearly two and half hours of brilliant music; also Ninet Tayeb's performance is a major asset
