well that's true but at the same time htere have been a lot of lesser known groups this year who have come out with good shit. like last year there are maybe only 10 or 15 hip hop albums from the whole year that i will probably ever listen to again and, yknow, 2011 was like actually a joke... but this year we're only in october still and there are at least 15+ that have been pretty to thoroughly enjoyable

Agreed. The only albums I really really dug are Chance the Rappers's tape, Joey Bada$$ Summer Knights, and KRIT's usual mixtape.
I might still get into Danny Brown's Old since I've only listened to it once, and I've yet to really give Run the Jewels a real thorough listen. But yeah, those aren't really big names, and the bigger names have dropped some pretty underwhelming things (this included).
Lots of great shit, but nothing outstanding imo.
