i know. it broke my heart a bit to be honest. i can safely (pun intended) say that the safety fire was my favourite band.
i really wish they released one last album before the split though... it was such a long break since Mouth Of Swords that I was expecting some new material from them.

yall who dig the band, check Good Tiger (dez and jo play guitar), guitarwork and even the bass sounds like TSF. Elliot Coleman on vox, so thats real nice, and Alex Rudinger on drums, so thats real amazing

Man, it's not even like I was all that into this band, but I just found out they'd broken up and watched Red Hatchet's video, and it's surprisingly poignant.

Yeah this band was pretty boring live, there was no energy in the songs or something. Defintelty still jam the album's from time to time though

Damn. How much i miss them. FDSF
|
| |
Yeah...they were pretty underappreciated.
|

Ah, so their band name is a reference to guns now I get it
|
| |
I thought it was a reference to creating a fire line. I vaguely remember people using controlled burns to create fire lines that would limit the spread of real fires.
|
| |
You’re probably right. I was thinking that a gun can only be on “safety” or “fire” but yours sound like it might make more sense
I just went through some interviews but all I could find was this, which doesn’t really say much
“In 2006 we started taking the band in a new direction and with that, came a change in name. There is no real meaning behind the name, but everyone felt it was right for what we were doing.“
|
| |
For all we know they just chose those words because it's kind of an oxymoron. I remember trying out a few oxymoronic names for my first band too. :D
