Yea, I like the electronic feel in it so I don't mind the heavy pitch correction. It actually helps making it feel that way

I don't see it as a problem, but I've overplayed it so much that now I know to expect such length.

The new album (which is great btw) got me nostalgic for this one and yeah, this thing is still perfect. "Falling Back to Earth" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Fuck yeah! Finally they found their own sound and jumped outta the handcuffs. They sounded so clone-like and restricted on previous albums. Not here!

I belive the sound on Aquarius was quite unique, because of the heavy synths and melody. I find Visions their most mediocre (and I'm one of the few to believe that on here). Mountain is up there, along with Affinity.

I have to agree they came into their own here. But unfortunately this album isn't nearly as captivating imo as Visions, Vector or Affinity are

Just listened to Affinity again the other day and feel the complete opposite. This album stands as a statement where as that one is fine, but it doesn't have the same energy or passion (imo). Still good... just not The Mountain.
Visions just doesn't do it for me. It's the only album of theirs that I really never return to.

Idk why this album doesn't do it for me tbh. I really enjoy the quirky bits, but the straighter prog metal stuff leaves me cold. Like Atlas Stone. Nice track, pleasant arrangement, cool dibidis in the background, but overall just a little boring. That how I feel about the album in general.

I liked when Haken found the blend of their own unique flavor and traditional prog metal. Albums before the Mountain lean a bit too hard on symphonics and DM worship while Virus leads too far into generic prog metal. The Mountain and Vector are the best of both worlds.

I only heard Aquarius once and felt it was a bit of a mess. That Funeral Doom section they added in the first song is still one of the biggest musical what the fucks to me lol.

I agree with most of this. That being said, I think Vector and Virus hold onto enough of Haken's sound to set them apart from any "generic" prog metal band right now. If you put them in a line-up it would be pretty easy to tell which contains superior song writing.

That part is a little odd. I chalk it up to them trying to be a bit more operatic with the record and use voicing as a means to depict certain characters or events but it definitely comes out of left field haha.

I don't mind the growling tbh. Coming to Aquarius after first having listened to The Mountain mae that part a huge wtf moment, but didn't hit negatively.
