'As a vocalist, I'd put him comfortably behind guys like Drunen, Pillard, Boman and Reifert.'

I had to look these up (because I hardly know anyone by name) but Pillard is a beast, not sure where I stand on Chuck vs the others though. The problem is someone like Boman is just so different to Chuck that I'm not sure you can really compare them, both work brilliantly in their respective bands.

I do appreciate the fact Chuck is usually quite easy to decipher, really helped with my initial DM induction.

That's fair. Boman wouldn't work in Death and Demilich wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting without him. But if it's simply a question of which guy impresses me more with what he does with his voice, Boman wins hands down. The four guys I mentioned were just a handful of vocalists that were active when Chuck was, but there are contemporary vocalists that I'd give the nod over Chuck too. Sindre Solem is probably my favourite of the lot.

Boman is more impressive, but I can listen to Chuck all day whereas I can't say the same for Boman. I dunno, I mean I guess it's not as technically impressive but I think is work is pretty much perfect for each album that he is on.

Yeah because Chuck only had only 1 voice in his career. Not impressive, you're right.

I like the more classic metal vibe of Symbolic, but I also really dig the more proggy nature of this. Both absolutely amazing

I would. In fact let's all argue about which one is best again, must have been at least 5 minutes since we did that.

Need to relisten. As I recall, I skipped the Painkiller cover in the past. Shall listen without skipping.
