Their best, no doubt. I really find the albums after this hard to enjoy all the way through like I do for this one. They have great songs, but also some real boring ass sections.

personally the new age-y doesnt bother me cause it was a very interesting evolution to their vibe and works with the band well. their command of music and atmosphere sorta makes it believable.
I think where the next two albums fail against this is the lack of fun. they just take it all too seriously in lateralus and 10k days, while having some humor, isn't musically as fun

I really dislike maynard on ticks before the soft passage. Lyrically especially. The Grudge just sorta drags after a certain point for me, though the beginning is bludgeoningly awesome. The other songs on the album more than make up for it... esp Reflection
