Merritt's phrasing reminds me of Jeff Buckley. I keep going back and forth on whether I like that or not.
Pretty cool album, need to listen a bit more.

I love the fact that these guys came out of the Atlanta scene. Makes me feel hopeful!

Im definitely getting an Alice in Chains vibe from this
|
| |
@slagun I hear a bit of that as well.
I think I reallly do like this, may end up being one of my favorites this year outside of the million other great releases.
|
| |
@omaha do you live in atl?
|
| |
Yeah man, well, the outskirts! Currently reside in Dahlonega, an hour and a half north of the Atl. But my band practices closer to the big city, and as a result, we play a few shows in the area.
|
| |
right on! i live 2 hours from atlanta in the birmingham Al area so i'm pretty familiar with atl. especially since you guys get the decent tours 90% of the time >: (
|
| |
Hahaha, yeah I can't complain about that aspect of Atl. Hit me up if you're going to any shows soon, we could meet up or whatever it is Sputnik denizens do in person.
|
| |
definitely man! next time i'll be there is september 15th for balance & composure and title fight. it's at the masquerade
i know you gave their new album a 2.3 but maybe seeing them live could spark that change of heart! hahaha

I honestly don't hear any Alice In Chains in their music, but to each his own.
|

liking this a lot more than garden window
|

for some reason i always thought this was another shitty christian metalcore band. might check this out, good review.
|

I hear a lot of Album of the Year era Faith No More too...not so much on the Patton end of things, but as far as song writing goes. Come into the Divide feels like it would sit nicely around Pristina, definitely would fit with Buckley's Dream Brother or Eternal Life.

| |
The more I listen the better this gets. I can't wait to see what they do next.
