Anyway, good album. Too bad they will never achieve this awesomeness again

Xing

I always see a similarity between this and Frightened Rabbit's MOF. They will never really do it again but it's understandable.

I think they could easily make another album of this quality again, they just don't want to. It's the instrumentation that made this so killer. The fact they toned it down so the vocals were the focus on Wildlife is what hurt the band. I don't give a shit if every instrument sounded like it was fighting for attention, it worked and that's what made it so awesome

Like XingKing said, La Dispute's instrumentation has definitely become less pronounced as they've gone on. The up until, and including Somewhere.. they had guitar solos and stuff, but since then it's all kind of support for Jordan's lyrics.

Ah, I get you know. I also didn't like Wildlife at all for that reason. Still even if they could return to that style I don't feel they can capture the magic here without them coming off a bit insincere.

Well, not financially at least. And I still enjoy Wildlife, although not as much as this or, their best two tracks by far, the untitled 7".

I'll pos. Not a huge fan of personal reviews but you articulated it well... and it's true, I wouldn't have been able to appreciate this fully without having had a horrible break up.
