it's not that I didn't particularly like 3 cheers, it's more like I just liked black parade a whole lot more. the classic-rock infusion was almost perfectly done imo, even if gerard's vocals are occasionally grating as well as the lyrics. and always adore it when pop/rock bands toy around with song structure.

Feather, I've already rated all of MCR's albums & reviewed most of them as well. Just head to my ratings page & read the reviews. But in summary, my order is the same as yours.

don't love gerard but yeah, I suppose you're right in that regard. corgan's cover of talking heads was also absolutely atrocious.

smashing pumpkins rubbed the wrong when when I was young, so it's always been hard for me to enjoy them since. I plan on tackling their discog soon and giving them a chance because I find that I generally really like 90s alt rock.

I've never really linked the 2 because of the greater pace of MCR songs.

"it's hilarious you hate billy corgan but love gerard way when gerard way is basically just a imitation voice of corgan"

wait wut. When I hear Way sing, I hear "slightly melodramatic mid-2000s whining but with some talent," not "rusty cheese grater on my eardrums."

Holy crap, just discovered these guys. On first listen, it was good, but nothing stellar. Upon continuous replays, however, this album turns into something borderline brilliant. Every single song has some degree of redeeming value, coupled with some great vocals and catchy musicianship. These guys deserve to make it.

I agree on all levels. It's an album that easily can be dispensed with after 1 enjoyable listen, but definitely should not be.

Criminally unknown piece of modern pop punk. Way too many bangers on this and I feel the need to bump my score every time I return to this

Edit: rating bump. Cant believe this started at a 2.5 for me
