yea the dark avatar was rly predictable but i hang around /r/thelastairbender a lot so meh. it still made for some awesome fight scenes yeah but i do wish they fleshed out unalaq's motivations more. his character was just so bland, if he were some really spiritual guy who stumbled in the spirit world and then got corrupted by vaatu, he'd be so much a better villain
but then i agree so many other good things totally outweigh the meh stuff. honestly i think the people who didn't like the eps didn't want to like the episodes to be edgy or something.
my friend was complaining how jinora handing the light to korra was too literal (as her spirit guide) and he'd rather have had korra be like "no vaatu there IS light in the darkness" and win because she's so stubborn. and i'm just like um okay so this one singular reason is why you said the entire finale was disappointing, are you joking? at least complain about the godzilla aesthetic or something

I hate when people complain the show is too dark. Like that isn't even a real complaint in my eyes.
I honestly thought this season was better than Air and almost Avatar quality.

I really enjoy the darker tone of this show, actually. I think it's more geared toward the people who grew up with Avatar and are now older anyway. I know this sounds like a personal thing, but I've just always been sad that most of the characters from the original show are dead in this one. I know it's 70 years later, but it's still kinda sad :P

Of course it's sad man, I grew up with the show too. I remember the night I watched the boy in the iceberg for the first time. I was there right from the beginning and never missed an episode. It's weird to think that Sokka, Aang and Toph are dead.

I understand, they can be annoying sometimes, the season wasn't flawless.
Maybe after Korra is over they'll do a midquel series or something. Or maybe they'll just leave it at Korra who knows?

i always read legend of korea and i'm like YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE but then i realize it's legend of korra and i'm like hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that's ok i guess but wow what a disappointment life really fucking sucks so that's how sputnik is making me want to kill myself thank you
