yeah i definitely think that egg ends up being his dragon. and it's def one of the best episodes, tbh i love every single episode where zuko joins the gaang

@mongi,

nah not the whole thing, I also did an entire rewatch of the franchise to prep for season 4 so i'm not really feeling doing it again in just 3 months. i just felt the urge to watch the episodes where zuko joined the gaang for some reason lol

I still need to catch up on Legend Of Korra. What do guys think of The episode Zuko Alone? It's probably my favourite Avatar episode, I can remember feeling so sorry for Zuko, at the end of the episode

It might be my favorite episode of the entire Avatar universe, yeah. I adore the symbolism with the dual swords: "these are dual swords, two parts of the same whole" and how they made that a motif throughout Season 2 with Zuko's "transformation" and regression. And then, I fucking love how they wove Zuko's backstory into the modern day story. There's a really subtle moment where the narrative suggests that Zuko had a relationship to Lu Ten comparable to the kid and his brother out at war. Just simple narrative framing, no dialogue or anything, adds so much more depth to Zuko's backstory.

What might be the best part about it, though, is just how unassuming it was. A lot of emotional episodes tend to be full of heightened drama, and in that sense Zuko Alone was incredible for conveying the same gravitas without a tinge of melodrama.

Agreed completely. I think it's great how they made Zuko reveil it's identity, and get rejected because of it. It didn't even matter what he did for that boy and his family, because he Zuko came from a bad familly, so he's bad too. It's so so so sad

I liked this series though it pales in comparison to A:tla which is understandable as this series wasn't intended to be as massive as A:tla, But I think Korra is stronger avatar, cuz stuff that she had to deal with. She even defeated the dark spirit vaatu, which no other avatar could claim. Nevertheless characters like Azula,Zuko and Toph made A:tla much more interesting.

I finally finished Legend of Korra ***SPOILERS FOLLOW*** A lot of great discussions on here about the ending, a minute afterwards I thought how it was a nice pairing but that it seemed to come out of nowhere, like they're talking at the wedding party and after discussing the events of the battle, out of nowhere they just say "Hey, lets run away together!" But now it makes more sense, I always sensed more between them throughout the past season or two but never really entertained the possibility, because, well, I never would've expected Nick to do it.

The rest of the ending was very satisfying, even if I expected a bit more of a surprise or something. It's about what I expected with how they ended the Kuvira storyline, her talk with Korra in the spiritworld was probably a highlight. There was so much beautiful animation and music throughout especially the last fifteen minutes. I miss it already and I'll probably rewatch both series at some point. I hope this isn't the end of this world and they make more series, just NOT ON NICK.

I finished watching the season I dropped it on last week. It was okay... I think I could probably have enough willpower to watch what's left to the end, although I don't think I'll ever watch it again.

In the meantime I'm gonna start re-watching The Last Airbender.

Did you get to Season 3? I've literally 0 desire to watch the rest of the series but that's the one season I might re-watch some time.

That ending idk would have been a wonderful ending if the previous 11 episodes actually built up to something interesting. It's very good for what we were given but overall my hype/ enjoyment was like 4/10. But Season 4 prob had the worst buildup for the finale (say what you want about the first half but Beginnings and onward Season 2 was great) so idk

No, I watched season 2 to the end. I do think the season got better as it went on though, so I'll give season 3 a go soon if it's much better.

I will say I'm probably seeing it with way harsher eyes than I should be since when I first started watching it a while back it disappointed me so hard and I couldn't stop comparing it to the ATLA, so I should probably take those goggles off a bit - But on the whole my main issue atm is that I'm not liking the "Team Avatar" much (Let alone nearly as much as theone from Atla), Asami and Mako are both pretty boring imo.

Yeah Season 2 definitely showed a marked improvement throughout its course. Definitely watch Season 3, even with those harsher eyes I think you'll like it a lot more. I'm not sure if that's just me hyping it up too much, but for me Season 3 felt the closest to A:TLA, even down to the color scheme. I also think the Team Avatar dynamic was a lot better in Season 3 before regressing in Season 4.

And yeah, I didn't like Team Avatar much at all. Mako and Asami really don't grow much as characters (while Bolin and Korra do): and honestly, I don't think the characters' relationships really ever progressed meaningfully. I mean you could talk specifically about every one of the characters in the Gaang and how their relationship with one another developed substantially and organically (except maybe Sokka/Aang and Zuko/Toph). I honestly don't think that's true of any of Team Avatar. But it's not a surprise; in general the character work of A:TLA was fantastic, and it's probably LoK's biggest flaw (or one of its biggest flaws... there are others, like its political themes).

let the creators do what they like...i'll buy if it's worthy for me. LoK is a great follow up to a much greater ATLB.

I still think it's the lack of episodes per season that left no room for better execuation. Also they went to follow the same route as ATLB in filler eps.

@mifzal, definitely the lack of episodes (as well as having four different plotlines) hurt the show quite a bit. But Season 3 proved you could be successful with 13 episode arcs: It had some nice character moments (I really liked everything in Zaofu as a whole) while slowly building the plot, and there were lasting effects of what happened in the season to build for Season 4 (depressed Korra, the Earth Kingdom in chaos).

For me it really just boiled down to unfocused writing to me. Too many characters and too many themes without really exploring them in depth, as well as interesting plotlines that generally weren't handled very well (in fact, the simplest plotline, in Season 3, ended up being the best one, and I don't think that's a coincidence).

Yeah because plot itself in season three wasn't that massive if you ask me. I think limited eps is just one of the reasons, I think the writers were too tempted wright about Avatar universe (which they saw a lot of possibilities in it) that they end up having 4 different compressed stories, one for each 13 eps. If only they'd stayed with one main concept like ATLB. because even if they had 20 eps, 1 story per season would still be too much
