And I'm no expert when it comes to production but sound awake is one of the best sounding albums I've ever listened to. Perfect separation between instruments, everything is clean and crisp and just a massive sound in general. While I don't hate the production on asymmetry and understand what they were going for, I really hope they go back to forester savell for album 4

Another new one. This one might be my favourite. It's got those real aeons/umbra vibes. These songs are very promising and should be even for those who didn't like asymmetry.

I saw them live two nights ago and the new songs sound awesome live. After All It Takes everyone was just like 'wow'. It also blows my mind how ridiculously tight they are and how Kenny never misses a note.

Yeah dude, seeing them live is pretty special. Kenny is absolutely flawless, and wathcing Steve do his thing is just mesmerising.

That's a pretty fucking mint setlist. Aeons and New Day for an encore is just brilliant.
Yeah, I'd run with that assertion as well, which is awesome as its one of my favourite albums ever. That said, this has really grown on me as time has passed, so I hope they still find time to incorporate some of the 'nastier' elements here too.

The Last Few has such a great chorus. I really like the "We are all around you" part in The Refusal too

The first verse in The Last Few is so awesome as well. The bass usage there is so satisfying.

There are definitely some nastier/more asymmetryish parts to the songs. Animation's bridge has a very dissonant/jammy part which sounds right out of Asymmetry for instance.
The Last Few is definitely underrated. Hell, the whole album is. I've said it before but if this album had Sound Awake stlye production it would've been much better received by people. The song writing in general is very solid.

I absolutely love this album, but for instance, just listen to the quality here, songs get even better because of it. Btw, that's probably one of my favorite live sessions ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W10ax1rduCo

All the live session stuff they do is awesome. There's one where they do an acoustic version of The Last Few and completely re invent the song.
Btw, a guy on reddit has put up a recording of their whole Sydney concert with really great audio for those who want to hear the new songs in good quality.
All It Takes is at around 7:10, Animation 24:30, Reanimation 36:15

That acoustic version of The Last Few is amazing, indeed. I believe that you're talking about that one session on wich they play inside a boat. There's also an amazing acoustic version of We Are on triple J , and it leaves me speechless every time I listen to it.

Listen to this! Sound Awake is fantastic enough to keep you up several hours, and Asymmetry is predictable enough to lull you into a stupor a couple hours later. Perfect balance!

I love the Triple J acoustic We Are. The cover of London Grammar's 'Hey Now' is amazing too.
And the last thing i'd call Asymmetry is predictable. I think the lack of predictable turned a lot of people off of it.

Yeah, Asymmetry can be plenty of things, but definitely not predictable.

It's the lack of predictability that makes it what it is. Way more challenging a listen than Sound Awake, but it still keeps me excited when I listen to it now. By making me like it more with each listen, I'd say they succeeded.

"Thanks to everyone who came, listened & sang to us on the Pre-Animation tour.
We’re now into pre-production of our fourth album with some guy called Forrester."
Forrester Savell producing? Yesssssssss. Lets get back some of that Sound Awake production.

I hope their new one is better than this, though it has grown on me a little. I still want to throw my headphones in a river every time I hear that "feel it taking over part" in Nachash, sounds like such shite.

The new stuff they've played live sounds way better than the majority of Asymmetry and I really liked Asymmetry. Sounds like the new album is gonna be a heavier Sound Awake which is killer.

iunno I didn't hear the heavier leanings when I heard the new live stuff, definitely sounded interesting but I think ill have to give it another try
