"It seemed great when I posted it"

See there's your problem, you should hate every work you create, once you're satisfied you stop trying and revising

'could this review have any more cliches lmao '

Dude, review doesn't start with: 'In recent years post rock has become increasingly stale' so yes it could.

All right, here goes:

Your PT review was definitely better than this, right off the bat. Don't take this the wrong way, take it as a step towards getting better. Some sentences pop out as really awkward, something you avoided for the most part last time. To wit:

The opener "First Breath After Coma" could literally symbolize someone waking up and taking their first breath after a coma.

Well, duh. No offense, but this is kind of a throwaway sentence.

You feel many emotions when listening to The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place.

See above

What's interesting is that after three honestly meh paragraphs, your conclusion is really really good. I don't know what changed, but that's basically the album in a nutshell and is a perfect way to end the review. Good work there. You just need to work on saying things that are (quite frankly) worth saying in a way that makes sense. Keep at it!

Yeah a track literally needs to have vocals for it to be a song

You feel many emotions when listening to The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place. As the album title

suggests, the five works of art on this album try to tell you that.
well this could have

been written some way better...

@brostep thanks man I realize this is a step downward but I tried my hardest with this one. I gotta take more time to write my next one.

You describe every song by its own title. You literally say nothing about anything for a good few paragraphs

I enjoyed reading the review, definitely need to get back into this band, and the genre though the only post-rock I'm really into anymore is the darker stuff like Godspeed and Set Fire To Flames.

my main criticism of this is you're telling the reader what they feel. music -- especially instrumental music -- is interpretable and personal. you can't say "when you listen to this song you feel..." you should say "i feel" or "it evokes feelings of" instead of directly imposing your experiences on the reader.
