No worries Capt. We're all self-taught. I know like 3 scales and everything I play is purely through the power of imagination.
Skramz is for lovers. I'm only semi-familiar with skramz, but that made me chuckle.

| |
I don't know a single scale and I riff alright
|
| |
Your Milly Michaelson cover ruled Xingy
|
| |
Oh shit, I totally forgot to respond in that thread because I was watching Pacific Rim and then I fell asleep. Thanks baby! I'm glad you liked it!
|
| |
lol it's cool, Pac Rim rules. I thought the skramz-ing in the second verse was a bit out of place but the rest ruled. The cleans aren't bad at all, they have a husky manliness
|
| |
I had a lot of trouble with that verse actually. With singing, it was just really empty and something was missing. I added the screaming and it sounded a lot better but there was a weird conflict between the two vocals, so I just took the singing out. I was pretty happy with the clean and soft music with harsh vocal outcome though
|
| |
fair enough just my opinion
I really think it would work if you used more cleans in the same way you did in that cover, because they really created a nice atmosphere. But I know nothing about actually making music so yeah.

"I don't know a single scale and I riff alright"
You need the scales for the 12 minute long jam solos bro. Gotta tap the stoner demographic.
|
| |
I'm really self conscious about my clean vocals so I don't use them as often as I'd like. They show up on the outro of this album though and for one line on my new song. Progress!!
|
| |
that's cool man I think they definitely have potential though
|
| |
With your confidence in me, I will prevail
|
| |
:D just believe in the m/
|

I have faith in the m/

Do you Townsend Xingy?
|
| |
He is talented as fuck (and an amazing producer) but his music isn't for me. I really dislike metal for the most part, though I enjoyed his non-metallic stuff that I've heard, I just haven't given it enough time
|
| |
Ah fair enough, I dislike metal too but I make an exception for him because he's pretty incredible. Yeah man just listening to Ghost now and it's the most astounding album, so relaxing
|
| |
What's crazy is that he doesn't know a single thing about theory or scales, which makes him even more awesome. In some video, he mentioned that he couldn't even tell you what note he is playing most of the time, just that it sounds good
