Album Rating: 4.0
I was hoping to come on here to find a serious review/opinion of this album then I read this bull****, enough said. This album is excellent and a great experimentation away from anything Oasis did in their latter years. Liam's problem is he is gobby and to be honest a bit of a PR disaster, this album was released with terrible timing because just days later the papers leaked the story about him cheating on his long time partner Nicole Appleton as if they deliberately planned on releasing the news then because they wanted his music to fail. He's human, and like every other human being he makes mistakes which he probably later regrets. He isn't the brightest tool in the book I'll admit but underneath the swagger and egotistical image he portrays to the media he is in actual fact a decent human being with a working class ethic, deep down he's still the little scally running around the rough streets of Manchester and I like that, I like the fact that he hasn't changed the way he is just to satisfy other people. He speaks his mind, sometimes too much for his own good but I'd rather that then somebody who just sits on the fence and goes away quietly. The biggest fail here is the British media's criticism of his music post-Oasis which is certainly more inspiring then older brother Noel's dreary bad impersonation of The Kinks whilst both DGSS and in particular BE are album's with moments of genuine quality with thoughtfully crafted psychedelic interludes whilst also featuring some of Liam's best vocals in many years, the other fail is the British publics failing to acknowledge just how very good Beady Eye where, I think they had so much potential but Liam knew he was fighting a loosing battle to convince people so cut the rope with Beady Eye far far too early!
