Steven Wilson writes way too many songs with "ashes" in the title.

Prodigal is what stops this from being a 5. Listened to blackest eyes a couple of days ago and it was just as good as I remember it being

Not too big on Creator or Collapse tbh

What stops this from being a 5 for me is that the songs have nothing to offer anymore after a couple of listens. I mean, I still like this album very much, but I don't find myself revisiting it as often as I do with most other PT albums

I feel like revisiting strip the soul and sound of muzak all the time. I try not to listen to it too much, to preserve it's value to me.
Creator had a mastertape is great. The bassline is just so mesmerising

Well yeah, I like to revisit some songs of it often of course, but I prefer listening to albums like
this in full. You know, PT are the kind of bands that make albums that are usually, as a whole, better
than the sum of their parts, so personnally I find listens more rewarding this way

The only album I listen to as a whole when it comes to PT is disc 1 of The Incident. I'm more of a song oriented guy anyway. It's also the only reason I endure tracks like Drawing The Line

Drawing the Line is boss and you will deal.

Well yeah, that's the thing about The Incident; conceptually it was made to feel like one big piece of
music, but the parts flow pretty badly between each other, so it doesn't sound that great as a whole.
But yeah, a lot of parts of The Incident are really enjoyable anyways, and Drawing the Line is
actually not that bad in my opinion
