The topics and themes of this album are challenging, the music itself can be similarly challenging. Good art should be challenging. Perfect album, the moments that being you out of your comfort zone are doing their job. It’s up to you if you want to be a low vibrational smooth brained pleb and dock the best album of the 2010’s for that.

Oh come on, the fact that Old Dreams is even left off some versions means Karin thinks it’s inessential

No it means there wasn’t space on the medium actually, the rest of that is conjecture

"Old Dreams..." is a definitive part of the experience.

If I'm thinking, "Ooh, I'm gonna have me some 'Shaking the Habitual'!", it's not going to be skipped because it's entirely part of the statement.

It's a brilliantly uncompromising album and needs to be enjoyed as such.

Everyone who skips it should lower their ratings, instead of sullying everything good and righteous with these brain-dead takes. Put your money where your mouth is. You’ve been exposed for the shameless posers you all are.

The thing is, I don’t skip it. If I’m listening to Shaking the Habitual in full, then I’m listening to it in full warts and all

I don’t skip tracks and then claim I’ve heard an album, that’s just not my style… doesn’t make me enjoy the tracks though

My rating is lower because of Old Dreams, this would be a 5 without it

I was used to the CD version without Old Dreams way before I first heard the song when I got the vinyl. Awesome track for sure, but I don’t think it’s necessary on the album tbh, could’ve been its own release

Idk, maybe if it was the first or last song, but I really dislike it being in the middle

It's basically an intermission at best, and an interruption at worst

Whoa, first time Dewi?

And yes, absolute peak-level music in every sense. Glad you like it.
