i don't really get the hate for him, some of his mannerisms and editing style can grate but his opinions are never less than fully considered and backed up

I think you've sold Kanye short in a few ways. He didn't need to put this out, and I have strong doubts that he would in any way regret this release. The album in many ways is designed to feel rushed, desperate, angry and I personally feel is meant to capture a glimpse inside this quite fractured man's soul.



‘Yeezus’ is at its core part caricature, part self-reflection which is what leads to a number of direct contrasts between all of the songs. I don’t believe he honestly thinks of himself as a ‘god’ per say but exaggerated his arrogance to match his popular image as the rap monolith and this is evident on his more image based efforts like ‘I Am A God’ for instance. Kanye is keenly aware of the person who he is and that it is translated into the highly experimental Yeezus, the product of its subject and a deeply conflicted mess. Something I feel it is all the better for.



Also blood on the leaves has nothing to do with Kim.

I went to Best Buy to buy a copy after work today and the cashier that was ringing me up said "We never sell CD's, but I've already had like 20 people buy this one today". I thought that was kind of funny since everyone already has the album from the leak and the CD itself is about as plain and unessential as it could possibly be.
