^ treoss777, I actually completely agree with you. I've always found his lyrics to be pretty weak. But on this record I didn't find them to be so bad that they detract from the songs as a whole (that was my problem with his first two albums)

Yeah fair enough and to be honest I've only give this one listen through so my opinion could change. Still haven't decided what to rate it. But lyrics are a pretty important thing for me.

Damn forgot this was coming out, thanks @ reviewer for reminding me, will check. I actually really enjoyed Monster Monster as well, but agreed about Gillespie being a weak lyricist.

Halfway through and this is really really good. I take back what I said about his lyrics, when he actually tries he can write some fantastic stuff, like the Florida Sun. Monster was the same. Wish he would do that more often.

yeah i agree with you on Monster, and Florida Sun. i don't think Aaron will ever be remembered as being a great lyricist... if you want that, listen to Thrice

Yeah that's true but this is still a massive improvement for him lyrically, even if he'll always be remembered for his voice. The Florida Sun should've been the closer, such a good track.

The closer is the only song I dont like

yeah i didnt like the closer too much either. it's actually a cover, and as a cover it's decent, but as an album closer that will most-likely be mistaken as an original song, it's pretty weak

That sick the Aaron read your review. Honestly I liked the past two albums much more, but it took each of them awhile before I really started to appreciate them, so maybe that will happen here as well. Some really good songs on here, but there are a lot that I'm not crazy over.

Following the inconsistent 'Monster Monster', Floridian quintet The Almost settle on 1 style of music for 3rd LP 'Fear Inside Our Bones'. Surprisingly, that sound is a raw & rather heavy version of straight-forward rock, with hints of the pop-punk & southern rock that has permeated through past releases. Recorded in analog, the production highlights the album's relentless energy, as well as the passionate - if boyishly ill-fitting - vocals of Aaron Gillespie. It's all a bit homogeneous & still not distinctly memorable enough, but is ultimately a fun & admirable rock out. Recommended Tracks: Never Be Like You, Fear Inside Our Bones, Fight Song & Ghost.
