American Candy is still my favourite from them. Near perfect pop album, seriously.

the run from Pioneer to AC is damn perfect, including the EP and all the b-sides, so many great memories listening to them

There's an undercurrent of despondency running through this that I love. A sort of futile yearning, maybe, hearkening for a youth that can never be recaptured (Halloween). Yet ultimately realizing it can be "forever" Halloween - youth - if you let it (hence the title track in the closing spot). So it's ultimately an optimistic statement (albeit tempered by practicality). Pretty nuanced.
I'm not sure if the band ever captured it again on subsequent releases, but I haven't gone through their whole discog.

Definitely, it's super underrated (and I still stand by my above comment)
