I actually think Songs for the Deaf is the most overrated. The first two records rock so much harder than SFTD

Not saying it isn't a consistant album, but in comparision to their other work, SFTD doesn't come anywhere near. As Irrevrent said, it was so commerical and that's the album that always gets the mention.

I'm not a snob, if something is mainstream I won't turn my nose at it just because people like it, but equally people get blinded by things that aren't that great because it's shoved in your face all the time.
Not that QOTSA has ever been straight edge mainstream anyway.
