I haven't rated Era yet. Haven't listened to it enough to give it a fair judgment.

Era is a pretty great album but there was no focus to the songwriting like he had on Rated R/

Songs, and not all that many stand-outs compared to their past work. Clockwork IMO blends the

best aspects of all their incarnations - the noisy/weirdness robot rock of Era/Lullabies with more

complex song structures and ambitious songwriting that were around on Songs and R, with

some Them Crooked Vultures, Zep and Pink Floyd nods thrown in. It's probably my favorite

album of theirs by a comfortable margin now.

Era is still a fantastic record though. Sick Sick Sick, Turning, Make It Witchu, 3s & 7s and River

In The Road (looooove that track) are all great

Eh, I wasn't a fan of Era at all really, but I am not much for Rated R either except for a few choice songs.

I am still with Songs as my fave, but I think this will grow on me with more listens.

after the first few listens, I'd say a 3.0 at most, but it grew on me a little, especially the best tracks. on par with Lullabies to Paralyze but not close to the epic first 3.
