EHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I've heard both this and Dying Sun and both are "I REALLY REALLY LIKE THIS ... up to a point" kinda records

This will probably be a 3.5 after a few more listens tbh

tbh I've been listening to Dead can Dance for 10ish years. never given S/T a worthy listen. such a solid disco.

Debut is a lot weaker than this and Within the Realm imo... need to dig into their later stuff still.

This is one of those bands with a discog that should be checked chronologically

I still appreciate this stuff a lot but to me the no-vocals tracks and the tracks with the female vocals are a lot better than the male vocal tracks

Although I think iirc some of the best tracks on Dying Sun were male lead

Yeah probably... I started at Within the Realm and worked my way back and I think that kind of ruined the debut for me. I'll go chronologically when I eventaully listen to the rest though.

I mostly agree ALA - Perry's songs are still great, but Gerrard is a goddess.

Toward the Within sounds intriguing Hovse, I'd be really interested to see how they recreate songs live.

This album would be a 5 from me if it weren't for the first 3 tracks all sounding like introductory tracks. Not to take anything away from them, but it's like you hear the first 3 tracks and then 4 comes out of left field to kind of kick off the album. It feels awkward to me everytime.

The first few tracks are some of the best though!

They are great I feel like they could have been spread throughout the album or something. Or like 1 at the beginning two at the bookend or vice versa. I don't know

The Cardinal Sin is perfection. Their best album by far. I wish more bands made gothic music like this.
