"It's the pinnacle of the post-modernist art movement. It's the end of all music. The ultimate minimalist record. Call it what you will. Art even. Enjoyable? This was the most unbearable music experience of my life. In retrospect it inspires a lot of thought. I think, does this have a right to exist? What is music? Must I enjoy music? Is it inspiring reaction from me enough to justify it? Even if that reaction is a near physical sickness due to its tinnitus like tone? Why am I searching for meaning in something that, may for all purposes be meaningless? Why do we seek meaning in what could contain none?"
Actually, maybe that's exactly the type of question the Onkyo movement seeks to plant in you. Maybe this album does this sonic "experimentation" purely for the sake of disgusting you to create questions. Maybe it's a bit like Cage, as in regarding music as "sound", and exclusively to make you feel, not to necessarily please you. Maybe we need drop our "oh this is pretentious" and some of our models for criticism in order to appreciate this sort of music. Personally, I don't know, I literally rated her collab album a 5.0 purely because of how divisive it was.

The second tone being lower is important - it's a lot less directional (as higher frequencies tend to travel in straighter lines from a source), allowing for a shift in tone quality as one moves around a room. Choosing these two tones is quite sensitive to making the listening fairly unique to each persons ears/quality of hearing. Not suggesting that unique and sensitive make it "good" :]
tldr - this isn't headphone music lol...
