It’s the best single so far and one of the best songs they did with William

New album leaked, boys.
It's on par with BGWTB, and miles better than Dinosaurs. Red Giant is the best DuVall era track.

I have to resist. Think I'll just wait til tonight :/
Glad to hear it's good, from what I've heard the three singles are some of the worst songs on the record so I'm pretty excited.
How's the t/t?

t/t is bombin', one of the strongest songs on the record. All in all the album is a lot more diverse and melodic, they definitely focused on catchier hooks, bigger sounding choruses, but all of it still sounds like AIC. Lots of acoustic guitar playing as well everywhere.
At the same time "Red Giant" is their heaviest track until now, very sludgy, like they combined the best elements of Hollow, A Looking in View and Phantom Limb.
Best way to describe it is the lovechild of Jar of Flies, Facelift and Dog record. And I agree the three songs released until now are on the weaker side, except for maybe So Far Under.

Pre ordered the album. Gonna wait til release on this. BGWTB and TDPDH had their shining moments but were inconsistent and too by the numbers at time. Hope they break out of that with the new album.

How is it? Genuinely curious because I really liked TDPDH but I wouldn't call myself a huge Alice in Chains fan either.

Everything here is pretty much spot on. I've only listened to it once so far but a big positive for me is that the album is *only* 53 minutes long. And the thing I disliked most about Devil was the length, Rainier Fog is a full 15 minutes shorter, and it works to its advantage. Red Giant, Drone, and All I Am stand alongside their best work, but I don't particularly care for Fly. It feels like the required acoustic track. I'd say this album isn't quite as good as Black Gives Way to Blue but is better than Devil. I definitely see myself giving it a 4, possibly a 4.5 if it starts to grow on me.
Sowing I think you'll like Rainier Fog if you liked this.

Seriously, Red Giant is a fucking classic, no clue why they didn't choose it as a single.
Maybe, Drone, All I Am and the t/t are some of their best songs in years.

Also, easily the best album in terms of guitar solos. Cantrell is killing it on nearly all tracks.

Yeah I definitely agree with that. These are some of his best solos period.
Honestly I can confidentially say that they can stop playing old songs live, their new material is strong enough to stand on its on.
Not that I would ever actually want that, just making a point.

Just started listening to the new album. Immediately hit in the face by a super dissonant riff and I couldn't be happier about it

All I Am could have gone on even longer tbh but I'm really happy with that track, it's fucking amazing like all of their album closers.
