I never liked the combination of elements here. It just felt someone took second string bm riffage and slapped extra reverb on it. My coworker did admit the songs are too long, even though he loves it.

New Bermuda is their answer to people saying Sunbather wasn't real metal, so i'd recommend that one. it tries to be heavier than the first album while having just as many blast beats, and tones down the post-rock a lot.

Bermuda has one of the worst guitar solos of all time, but is probably their best album on the strength of its highlights. Closer sounds like the Foo Fighters covering Agalloch, and uh yep that's the niche this band were born to fill

baby blue in general is a lackluster song, it's a lot of lukewarm post-rock build-up just for a long, bad solo, then ends with boring chugging. the other three fast songs also feature a lot of the same chugging but at least they're written decently.

Baby Blue's like, my favorite on the album. The build is immaculate and I love the leads on that. The chugging has a certain groove to it that I dig.
