If I’d posted all that in an Ed Sheeran thread with the swell of collective opinion behind me sure it wouldn’t be taken down, I get it

It has been ordained that Sput likes the album

If I still posted all that and didn’t get an entry into the pasta thread I’ll be fukkin gutted, was hoping at least the ‘diction’ argument might have qualified, sad times

I know this will get deleted but I genuinely was sexually assaulted when I was 17 years old.

I made sput aware of it when I kept getting shut down for ‘not knowing what I was talking about etc etc’ during one of those non music threads.

The comment was deleted and I think I was banned.

lol

Well, the AOTY site has inbuilt positivity bias in that your home page shows your five top rated albums of the year - so people instantly see what you like a lot, and then if you’ve written a blurb/soundoff/review it’s linked. So users straight off see and read about what you do like.

You don’t have that here, so unless you happen to like the albums everyone else does you’re either seen as negative or you are very quiet lol

This site does fall into the trap of being an echo chamber/‘safe space from the nasty men who wrote a negative review’ sometimes. It’s part of the charm - I think?

Sexual abuse only became relatable post 2000 I guess

Sounds grim, not sure how much you’d want to go into it - but fair play, it can happen to anyone and is serious shit, always has been, but the stigma has eroded for the most part at this stage so that’s good

You ever watch Ray Donovan? - maybe the most mainstream TV show I’ve ever watched about sex abuse of boys

It’s like the sopranos if they’d all been diddled by the same priest while at Sunday school

To be fair it’s quite clever and not that grim, they made the abuse an undercurrent behind the main crime/‘hollywood fixer’ plots

One brother becomes a sex addict, one is sex anorexic, one is self destructive in general etc
