Most of what you see, my dear, is worth letting go
Because not everything that goes around comes back around you know
Holding on too long is just fear of wanting to show
Because not everything that goes around comes back around you know
Not everything that goes around comes back around you know
One thing that is clear, it's all down hill from here
*sobs*

The last 2 songs on this are phenomenal, closes out the album perfectly.

the guitar tone and the riff after he says that part ''it's all down hill from hereee'' is just amazing and when it builds into that solo, holy fucking shit. Best part of the album, for me. It's such a sad sounding yet at the same time badass rock n roll sounding solo.

So true. Can't believe I used to not consider the t/t one of the best here, but I think it might be my favorite now aside from I Appear Missing.

I Appear Missing is an all time great song imo, for the entirety of the rock genre
Album is a borderline masterpiece and still underrated

I have a hunch that some movie needle-drop or something in the next decade-ish will make a track from this (realistically prob I Appear Missing) the defining song of Homme's career rather than No One Knows

"Album is a borderline masterpiece and still underrated."
I think it is rightly rated. Back when it was released a decade ago, this album was covered in praise, and for a good reason, it truly is a fantastic album.

my housemate posits a genre of "mechanic metal" which I suppose is like, entry level heavy music that mechanics listen to, e.g. Metallica, Korn, Disturbed
maybe Like Clockwork is the next evolution haha, repairman rock

Fuck me, this is almost 10 years old.. cheers to that!

will be interesting to see how In Times New Roman closes this trilogy out.
saw in the leaked liner notes that chains and glass will be featured on the last song of the album, similar to how Keep Your Eyes Peeled begins… pretty cool way to tie it all together

‘I Appear Missing still goes so fucking hard......easily my favorite Queens song’
Yeah, agreed. I don’t think this is a hot-take these days, but I’d definitely say it’s thee QOTSA song, no exceptions. And I hope what Kompys said comes to pass, it should certainly be seen as a career defining highlight in that sense imo.

This is an extremely sound bit of future-casting, Kompys. Even if it doesn't come to pass in this timeline, the scenario itself seems like something that could very realistically happen.
