Shit, you could tell me Bananaphone’s lyrics are about Raffi being an undercover spy and I’d believe it. All lyrics mean everything

Yes it is

Does this have the requisite vibes for 5-dom, or just bangers for days & nostalgic resonance? This is the ultimate question Koris. Only time will tell.

As someone who just jammed it last night, I can assure you that my 5 still stands as proudly as ever

I did also jam this recently and tentatively decided to keep it 🤔
Maybe I’ll defect to team Yank Crime one day (no, I can’t have both).

I'm re-jamming it now and decide on some unhinged decimals.
Loved reading this review though.

This is almost proto-scene music? If only in how poppy and super melodic it is at times. Like it’s not the same kind of post-hardcore as Drive Like Jehu and Unwound put it’s still fucking amazing and will never not be. If it’s still a 5 now, I don’t see what should change in 10 or 20 years.

For sure. I've had this as a 5 since 2012, and I don't see that changing anytime soon

I've had this as a (theoretical) 5 since... *checks notes* 2006(?). Similar anyway. It might actually be earlier.
(currently my 2nd eldest as it was definitely post-Kid A but before Fear's TAOM or Jane Doe)

"This is almost proto-scene music?"
yeah it's awesome because it bridges gnarly 90s post-hardcore with the scenecore most of sput grew up with in the 2000s

I must've missed that bridge somehow, maybe it was undergoing repairs or something?

Doesn't bridge shit

Never really saw this album as a bridge between those two worlds, Glassjaw on the other hand... Maybe.
