^^ and yeah, you're right. I'm pretty sure it was the main riff to 'If Only', I believe, not the solo.

Re: We Will Fall though, keep in mind that on the vinyl that's the last track on the A side. It makes sense in that context.

Not sure if I prefer this or The Monks. Either way, this is one of the best garage albums ever.

I Wanna Be Your Dog though.

i prefer the band's later output, the unnecessary psychedelia is all over the place in this one

Yeah but Fun House has unnecessary hard rock. What can you do. :^]

nah man, "hard rock" as a term offers very little insight to the chaotic and beautiful mess that is fun house

Album Rating: 4.0
you just can't describe fun house simply as "hard rock"

This album is definitely haphazard but in such a whacked out way.
Much like Fun House it’s such a fun listen.

love me some psychedelic wackiness n shit but some of the songs here bore me to death tbh

I mean it’s a great foundational album is that makes sense.
Not this albums fault that Fun House is the best album ever made.

Agreed, but you cant describe the s/t as merely psychedelic either.

Album Rating: 4.0
no, it's also rocking and punking and wah-wahying (Ron Asheton was one of the greats btw) my ass off
thing is it is not as memorable or well written as their next albums
a great record nonetheless

I prefer my garage punk to be as poorly written as possible so maybe that is why this one is slightly better than Fun House for me.

As weird as that statement sounds I agree Ghandhi.
Even if I prefer Fun House I guess the whole point of punk is to be as rough around the edges as possible?

you must love the sex pistols then

"the whole point of punk is to be as rough around the edges as possible"
At least for certain styles like traditional punk or anarcho punk. If I want "good" writing from punk I'll just listen to Husker Du or Television, not The Stooges.

been sitting on these albums for years without rating them, but I'm thinking the final verdict is gonna be this one gets the 5
