Ah, memories...these guys aren't as bad as I had percieved. Nice work, Peer of all peers.

With the thought of no growling in mind, I've created a question.

How does this album compare to the likes of Songs of Darkness, Words of Light?

It's too difficult to get ahold of any MDB or Candle Mass. Also, where is Hammerhall categorized?

Thanks

I think this is better than Songs of Darkness ..., Especially because their violin player still plays on this album.

Hammerfall, assuming you mean them, Are Power Metal.

this album rocks, the cry of mankind is so

oh Superpeer:

the melody that opens the first track is playe dthroughout the entire song ( it never stops) although it's very low in the mix at the breaks (esp. in the middle)
and it's played by believe it or not, guitar :p
(I gues they just use a sample on stage, but on this record it's a guitar)

good review

I'll be writing an As The Flower Withers review later on, watch this space.

I've heard Aaron's "soft" vocals and they sound very forced and uncontrolled, so I think I'll wait until I've got all of their freaky-deaky growling albums before I get this.

I'm getting it for X-mas...how cheery, eh?

Yeah, I love the stuff on this album and everything else I've heard from the band...I love what they do. Very cool. Good review, too.

They get such weird, morbid tones out of the guitar. Your River (from Turn Loose the Swans) begins with clean-guitar that sounds like a piano, it's amazing.

I'm listening to The Cry of Mankind right now... the drumming is amazing. I just love how everything is arranged, it's amazing. Great, classic band.

I haven't heard everything from this album, but what I have heard so far is excellent. I really like what I've heard from them, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the album.

I've only heard a couple of songs by MDB, but, although I otherwise like The Cry of Mankind, I really dislike the last few minutes of it because of that constantly repeated and annoying sound in the background (I dont know what instrument it is, but you know what Im talking about, right)

Good album, but I think their peak was Like Gods Of The Sun.
