High Speed sounds like an Urban Hymns era Verve song to me, I could easily hear Richard singing that rest of the band already kind of sounds like them here anyway
great album, they slowly but surely abandoned the simple warmth here that I found so appealing but there are some soft-rock gems here & there after this (& yeah i'd say at least have of Rush of Blood is good)

This one has mega nostalgia value for me, love all of it. Some perfectly introspective songs, with lots of warmth yeah. I also feel like they became somewhat more arrogant in their writing on later albums.

Jammed this for the first time today, I've only heard Trouble before. It was nice.

Their guitarist is mad underrated. They got worse as they went on, and I believe it's because they downplayed the guitars, even though they have always put more emphasis on pianos. Their first four albums are something special though. Pop touchstones for sure.

Fuck the rest of the members, the band now is basically just Chrissy And The Synths

^^^ You right. I did really enjoy Ghost Stories though. I admit that. More because of lyrical presence and concept. The sound just blended super well with the longing atmosphere.

Shiver is prolly my favorite here. Far cry from their music today.

I love Trouble so much
I hated Yellow when it was first in rotation so I was really confused if I would like this band or not when Trouble became a single. I don't think I actually started looking into them until I heard The Scientist later on

I feel extremely hipster with this. A friend gave it to me just after it came out, and I thought it was very nice. But then of course they became lame, sell-out mainstream darlings - so I had to demonstratively distance myself from them.

Eh
If you like it, you like it
I think most of their post Vida stuff sucks, too, but I still love their earlier albums (except X&Y)

My lightheartedness and care free spirit must not have translated in with the text. I will try harder next time

Egarran it wasn't a mistake. You've made me happy, that has to count for something!
This is my I'm-sad-and-I-need-something-warm-and-sad album. It works every time.

Trif I listened to Last Scene by Supercar while trying to cram grammar in a cafe today and it made me really sad and the cafe was warm :[
