I think that overall, this is a pretty solid album. The song "So Close Yet So Far" is one of the best imo. It has a Transit vibe, which is something I never would have expected from these guys. It's interesting to hear a song like that produced by Joey Sturgis as well.

^you're kidding me. the record has 100 breakdowns and the definition of pop punk excludes these. no pop punk band ever has got one breakdown in their song and ADTR is by far no pop punk group but a metalcore one. metalcore hasn't got these exclusions and includes basically everything there is, that's why it is getting so much hate in general and enough hate for specific subgenres like 'popcore' or 'easycore'. just because someone adds touches of pop punk and/or modern post-hardcore and tries to capture the same catchiness does not mean he instantly changes into the genre entirely. it's a partial transition _at most_.

comparing this to overyhped bullshit like all time low is hilarious. both have nothing in common aside from catchy choruses. nothing.

the only reasonable comparisons are still a day to remember, set your goals and four year strong. after that comes nothing for a long time, until reaching bands like we came as romans, the word alive etc. get your facts straight guys - the band itself states that they're mixing the genres and not fully committing to pop punk by all means. sentences they are stating live are something like 'chunk! is a metalcore band taking it easy', I've talked to them for two times now.

jfyi

So, this band is a shitty (or shittier, as some might put it) version of ADTR?

ps @Cygnatti: you're registered for not even one full year now and already have 8k comments - maybe you should finally settle down and stick to bands you know something about plus stop talking pointless bullshit and half-truths all the time. no one needs comments like 'ugh' or 'dafuq' plus (dumb!) lies like 'worst pop punk band ever' while referring to a group not being a full-blooded pop punk band at all (as I've proved numerous times above). just be quiet if you have nothing expedient to contribute.

bottom sputnik trash thinking he owns the world..yuck.

I know pop punk very well. Pop punk used to be one the only genres I listened to when I was 13

through 16, I've added at least 35 pop punk bands to the db and pop punk used to take up 40 % of

piechart so don't lecture me about shitty pop punk bands like this.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you? My 'dafuq?' was in response to Atari

asserting that 'What Separates You From Me is better than Homesick' which has absolutely nothing

to do with this band in any way, shape, or form.
But of course you didn't catch that, you just

had to defend this band, even when they aren't being addressed.

Who cares if it isn't "full-blooded pop punk"? The "metalcore" aspects to this band are shallow. So

it has breakdowns, tons of them even; it's still pop punk.

'chunk! is a metalcore band taking it easy' - utter bullshit. Just because the band says they're

one thing or like to believe they're one thing, doesn't mean they are. Shitty post-hardcore bands

like to call themselves screamo, but they aren't. They think they are, but they aren't.
