Just watched a video of one of the guitarists playing Atlas Novus. It was pretty sweet.

That tapping section at the beginning is fantastic.

Oh, man. The end of Willow, where they just wail on those single notes over the chugged part, is so great. I wish they would have done it more than just on the ending.

I really don't get how people enjoy their previous works more than this. This album is so incredible as a whole, while the others come off as fairly disjointed to me.

i enjoy collective more. i don't see how its disjointed at all. their pre-collective stuff definitely tho

collective may even be more cohesive
|

i wouldnt say its disjointed, it just has more obvious peaks and lulls- all of which are enjoyable

Nah man, I listened to the collective a handful of times and there's just nothing holding it together. They still bring the talent full-on, but it's just not nearly as enjoyable.

I really like The Collective so far, but this was definitely more immediate.

Narrow Salient would be the best song on the album if it ended as epic as it started.
