I'm not sure the review reads like a 4.5, but it's really well written nonetheless, and deserving of the feature.
I like this, but I think it's probably Frank's weakest to date. The more populist sound generally isn't a problem, but there are moments where, as previous posts have said, he seems to stoop to self-parody (namely Four Simple Words, which I thought was a bit gimmicky even when the rest of the crowd went apeshit last time I saw him live).

I found this way less distinctive and entertaining than England Keep My Bones.

Album is good. Not as good as England or Love, Ire and Song though.

Very good review, deserving of the feature. This is without a doubt his poppiest effort, but in his case that is not a bad thing.
Still considering submitting my own review for this

Thanks guys, first feature, appreciate the comments, cheers for reading!
I can definitely see why people might not enjoy this as much as his previous work and I'm not one to argue about that. Like I said, it will turn a big group of fans off and those who never liked him won't have their opinions changed, but I like it.
I'd be interested to see a legitimate negative review to see what shaped peoples' opinions

Bit underwhelmed after a first listen.

in regards to grower vs shower and "one answer is to imply that you are somehow lacking in the other", it's just askin "hey fella is your dick actually that small always or does it get a lil bigger when you get a stiffy? ;););)" showers just already show their dick size.
ANY DICK QUESTIONS?

"Cowboy Chords" absolutely must be intentional self-parody, and possibly "We Shall Not Overcome"
at least I hope they are. if not....woah.

album is just love ire and song but he is a pop artist now. lots of similar lyrical themes albeit with less "lol i used to be punk but now im not" and more "this is what punk is to me"
exactly this, but with an additional focus on relationships with friends and women, and less political nonsense
I like it almost as much as love, ire and song, but more than poetry of the deed and england keep my bones

Pos, great review. Made me chuckle and simultaneously want to go listen to the album.
Well done.

@ Sanders/Hanson re: "album is just love ire and song but he is a pop artist now. lots of similar lyrical themes albeit with less "lol i used to be punk but now im not" and more "this is what punk is to me""
that's a good way to look at it actually, and I can agree with that assessment. I still just feel like LIS had some undefinable spark that this just lacks. I mean this is obviously specific to me, but yeah. I don't disagree with that quote, but that doesn't mean that this is anywhere near as "good" as his other albums. So much on this just rubs be the wrong way, whereas literally every second on LIS was perfect to me.
