Well yeah, because it's just an ambient track. You wouldn't listen to an ambient album and say, "yeah, well all these tracks are pointless"
This is just an ambient track. Whether you think it good or not is a different story. It goes for 5 minutes, so it's not just a filler track, it's an ambient track. I don't see what's so pointless about it.

Could it be that people just didn't like a 5 minute ambient track breaking up the flow of an already very short death metal EP? Could it be that people just wanted a 15 minute DM EP to be more than just 2/3 actual DM? Could it be that people just didn't like the track? Are none of those possibilities?
Well, no. As I said, it's not about whether they liked the track or not, or whether they wanted more dm for one EP. The track isn't "pointless" in any way. The EP is a taste of what's to come for Fallujah, and they obviously wanted this to represent what path they were going down. "Pointless" and "I don't like this" aren't the same.
