If this ain't synthpop, what is it. Movement is more post-punk because they still trying to get the JD stench off, but I would say the pop starts with this album

They had good singles, can't deny that.

So yeah Joy Division is an objectively better band

well not every single album is better but they have several that are. all these are great but for me the best to worst is -
Technique
Power, Corruption
Low-Life
Unknown Pleasures
Brotherhood
Movement
Republic
Closer
Get Ready

I would rank every NO album above both 'Closer' and 'Unknown Pleasures' (each of which I currently have at a 2.0 rating).
Not to imply objective quality, importance, historical relevance, etc. etc., but in my heart of hearts I prefer listening to the worst NO album over the best JD album.
I am ready for my punishment.

I respect Technique that high, though. Underrated album.

Technique is easily their best album imo. I'd say Get Ready is the underrated album in their discog

As eclectic as Iβd like to be, I canβt deny that this is my favorite NO album in a walk. So good. All killer no filler.

Agreed. This, Substance, and Movement are all stone cold classics. I'd really love to be able to catch Peter Hook's band play some JD & NO tunes once normalcy begins to return.

Ain't he and Bernard sworn enemies now?
