On rym it has a 2.87 average with over 2000 ratings

And Post Human has a 3.46, not the best site to use for judgement. There Is A Hell is held in pretty high regard with fans of that style of core whether you want to acknowledge it or not lol

People put way too much stock into sput and rym ratings sometimes. This is the scene album. The 3.5 average does not tell the whole story here, and tbh the fact that it even has a 3.5 on a site that typically hates this stuff says a lot.
Steak saying this is overrated despite a 4.0 rating is completely fair to me. Bring Me the Horizon (and scene-core in general) is not something I would really consider the sput/rym/pitchfork-sphere to be an authority on.

That goes double for rap.

Code Orange had a 3.2 on their last album here on Sput yet most mainstream outlets and scene kids fell on their ass for it
RYM is more representative of music opinions as a whole but neither are telling of the bigger picture

Yea exactly, you can't just look at sput and rym and think they're the authority on everything and how things are perceived

RYM has an oddly strange love for anything related to jazz

Man this is good, the cringe lyrics and lame gang vocals add to it all.

Really wish the band would’ve continued in this style instead of diluting their sound with the later releases

It kinda peaks at The House of Wolves, and then sits at "decent" until Hospital For Souls where it picks up again. I used to love this album as well, but I never feel inclined to listen to it anymore. Still has some good moments though!

The stretch from Empire to Seen It All Before is honestly amazing

Every half a year I'll suddenly remember how good this album is, this time it coincided with getting a new audio setup. Still digging the hell out of this, I was about 18 when this came out but it doesn't feel like that much time has passed even though it's turning 10 next year.
