They don't twist the songs in any direction to me. They just make the songs meander on and on and they really just repeat.
And the long songs without those codas, well, 7/8 minutes of verse/chorus/verse/chorus/verse/chorus really isn't creative.

Strawberry Bubblegum for instance completely changes direction 5 minutes in, from fairly straightforward sugary pop song into some loungey soul-y number while retaining overall melodic and lyrical cues
i mean a lot of the songs could trim a bar or four of repetition and lose nothing in quality or mood (particularly the end of Pusher), but to say they don't mostly earn their length or change direction skillfully is folly

Admittedly the Strawberry Bubblegum one does sound nice on its own. But with the track, it just seems out of place and is grating.
If you want a place of "changes direction near the end" done right, may I recommend "Baby Come Back" by Serena Ryder.
