I feel like it would get old pretty fast. Although I think it would be great if they moved on from their pop influences. I definitely want more like In a Place of Solace but also more like Arrivals and Departures (not the album haha) and Stand Amid The Roar, In silent Seas We Drown, and On Brave Mountains We Conquer (their post-hardcore/punk songs)

Excited for the follow up, if it's as good as this it should show up on end of year lists.

Fallenbird, i don't think it was that blatantly obvious since Hogan (the reviewer) only got that This is how and The wind shifts are meant to be played together

The concept was advertised a lot by the band. And as you said about the tracklist, the album is split into 2 parts of 7 tracks and the combinations all line up in order. And with the main concept of the record being how a single decision can change your life; with side A being choices and side B being consequences. For me I realized it by the time I got to This Is How and I then saw how the rest lined up.

Combinations being:

Stand Amid The Roar In A Place Of Solace

On Brave Mountains We Conquer, In Silent Seas We Drown

Massachusetts, California

This Is How The Wind Shifts

A Better Place To Live And Lose

Hide Your Secrets With Second Chances

Arrivals, Departures

Also if I remember correctly Silverstein have been only making concept albums since Shipwreck (outside of Short songs) so I was already looking for one when I first listened to it.

Looking back on my comment earlier I apologize for coming off as rude/abrasive. Was probably just in a shitty mood or something of the sort.

Thanks for elaborating more on the whole concept. Everyone's in a shitty mood now and then, it's okay.

I skip a couple tracks here and there, but overall its their best effort next to DTW.

I'm seeing them on the DTW 10 year anniversary tour tomorrow and hope they play a couple tracks from this one for the Encore.

New album leaked. Just into the 4th song and sounds pretty good so far. Got the feeling that Silverstein is the only post-hardcore band from the early 00's era that survived and continues releaseing solid stuff.

Edit: Holy shit this might be their Magnum Opus.

Wish "Arrivals" was a full length track sometimes, really love it and its placement flow-wise.

Really can't decide whether this is a 3.5 of 4.0...it changes all the time for me but since the concept is pretty cool I should probably switch it back to a 4.
