Why was today the first time I have listened to this band? The closer is probably one of the best melodeath/prog metal songs ever made. This will probably be my next 5.

No. Never listened to them before but it being tagged as Melodeath and Prog Metal is promising. Definitely will give them a go.

So they have an interesting arc! They start off melodeath with prog leanings, then they have this period starting at The Weight of Oceans where it's like post-rock melodeath??? And now they're kinda more prog again.

I would also plug Be'lakor as well. All their work is great, but I'd start with either Stone's Reach or Of Breathe and Bone.
