@johnny Eight Days a Week is mid-grade early Beatles imo, a lot of the stuff on this and Help (and even kinda Rubber Soul tbh) has a "came up with this in an afternoon" vibe which usually means either pure accidental genius or sorta slapdash pop
but the fact remains few people could write a hook like Lennon/McCartney so yknow

Most solid of the pre-Rubber albums and genuinely fun as a full listen

Help has some highlights (t/t, Ticket to Ride, I've Just Seen a Face being my favs) but it's got nothing on this album-wise imo

"t/t, Ticket to Ride, I've Just Seen a Face"
YES! Really enjoy the rest of Help too though.

Far from me to hate on a Beatles record but I feel this has much more memorability overall. No Reply's second half, Mr. Moonlight's atmosphere and organ solo, the speedy kick drum + booming timpani in the chorus of Every Little Thing (mega underrated song?), etc
