First three songs are the weakest, rest of the album is really good

Wut, the first 2 tracks rule
You are the Everything, Hairshirt, and I Remember California are what I'd consider the weak ones

Best REM. Only one I've heard in full that really makes me feel anything anyway. Such an awesome combination of hooks, lyricism, and maturity

if you feel nothing at Automatic for the People you may be a robot

Tbf i should give this another chance to see if it grows on me, but i remember it being a fair bit far from their best imo.

It's one of me faves of this. Opener is absolutely classic as well.

Album rules, but the acoustic tracks aren't up to par here

Just listened front to back. Great album. I preferred the moodier tracks like 'world leader pretend'. The acoustic tracks were nice. The mixing on this is so incredibly amazing. Maybe my favourite 80's gated drum sound. Orange crush is obviously an outstanding track.

I kind of agree with neekafat in that this album gets better after the first two songs.

Been on an R.E.M. binge. This is definitely better than Out of Time, slightly better than Murmur, on par with Document, but none hold a candle to Automatic

World Leader Pretend is a great song, rest of the album is okay. Loses steam in the second half.

Nah if anything it gets stronger in the back half. Orange Crush, Turn You Inside-Out, and I Remember California are some of the best songs here
