help me i need to go back to school
but uhh today seems like it's gonna be good, i have work in 3 hours - idk if im gonna sleep or
not... ugh, a real close friend of mine paralyzed himself from the neck down back in august (on
brother's birthday) : so we've all been trying to keep him company in high spirits. he can't move
or anything, just stuck laying down in a bed/wheelchair for god knows how long
he was a room mate of mine with three other friends for like half a year, we played smash
competitively together, jammed sputnik approved albums, taught me yugioh, good times, etc etc
i was gonna host my own party but i made an event on fb for all of his friends/my friends to head
over to his place since this is like pretty much the only time i can get to see him and he obviously
can't transport himself over to my place or wherever i would host it. he's been begging me to hang,
but i couldn't previously so this should make due - kinda like a double party thing, made sure it
was cool with his family though so it wouldn't seem inconsiderate. poker and stuff so it should be
fun, i'm hyped
man it sucks though cause he was justttttt pulling himself out of a previous shit hole - losing his
social and wallet, his family isn't very well off to begin with as well.. crazy how people pull
together when rough shit like that pops up
houston is still hot so my holidays are happy, how have yours treated you??

uhm, I don't know if i can say too much about that that wouldn't be trite/platitudinal. that's really sad. I can't imagine what that must be like for him/you. but you're right, tragedies tend to bring out the best in people, and I hope he finds solace in having good people around him. you seem like a very good friend.
I could go for some hot weather. It's like... 12 degrees here. not too fun. everything is covered in a very pretty icy sheen, though. my holidays are stressful but nothing to complain about. I bought an electric guitar, finally, which is cool. enjoying messing around with it. started getting the bills for my surgery earlier this year, and yikes. insurance is not a cover-all, turns out.

the whole situation with him is insane. it was hard for me to deal with it for a while, i would just
sit and think about it for like hours on end as stupid/funny as that sounds but i got over that
eventually.. i can't even begin to imagine what's been racing through his mind though, something
similar recently happened to a dude on sputnik as well ...fuk
why are the holidays stressful dude? grats on and the guitar - have fun and hospital bills body
people, yeah. luckily my parents had me covered with incredible insurance back when i was going
crazy with my crohn's shit otherwise my entire immediate family would be close to slaves for likely
the rest of our lives. hopefully it doesn't revisit anytime soon cause i sure as hell know i won't
be able to properly cover any of it
most importantly though - are you feeling any better?

no, i know how that is. my grandma, who i was very close to, died the night i graduated high school, and it was all i could think about for any significant length of time for a few weeks after that. it was poetic timing, and it all felt incredibly overwhelming when it happened. easily the strangest emotional state i've ever been in. i can't remember a time when i appreciated life more than i did in that period.
i saw that thread, sounds like that guys making the best of his situation, which makes me happy.
it's really just this week that's stressful. running around to a bunch of relatives houses that i barely know, hanging out in the corner because i'm the oldest of the kids by several years and obvs 20-50 years younger than the adults, spending all my money (did a kickass job with gifts this year, though), dealing with dumb young adult problems, etc. I'm very excited for the next few weeks when I'll be able to hang with friends I haven't seen in awhile, work this nice job I got, play some video games, go on a road trip or two, and just generally enjoy myself.
i thought i had great insurance! i'm still on my parents plan, but somehow it ended up being around 1k out of pocket when all was said and done. I do feel quite well, though, thanks for asking. best of luck avoiding crohn's. i have had a couple friends who have that, actually, and i know it can a huge pain.

i have not played earthbound, but i think i've heard of it. it's an old 2d adventure game, correct? okami is fantastic. the art style in that game is just wow.
