Yeah, I like both of the bonus tracks, how are they not on the album?

On the positive side, relistening to Innocence and Instinct right after it just made me bump that album to a 4.

This is clearly not for me. A couple tracks in and I got bored as hell and bailed.
I'll try again at a later date, perhaps.

"Yeah, I like both of the bonus tracks, how are they not on the album?"

I'll have to check out the other one. I know it's likely not true, but some cynical side of me feels like these bonus tracks are just to throw a bone to old fans while they cash in new fans with this change in direction.

Nice, a 4 is right where I&I belongs imo. If I heard it for the first time today, that's probably what I'd give it as well.

The other bonus track is a better heavy song than anything in the first half of this album. I actually think they still have it in them to make another great album unlike when Benson derailed Skillet.

This review is good. The first thing I thought of when I saw the album cover is disturbed. I have better things to listen to, but whatever....

I used to like this band, but now they're boring and average.

I just finished listening to the stream. The album was boring until the 6th song started and even then it wasn't that great. Really disappointing considering that the band used to be one of my favourites.

Yeah, the other bonus has a pretty cool riff and clean vocals which is what Barnes is good at. I enjoy this one too. If they replaced 2 of the generic nu metal songs in the first half with these bonus, this could probably be a 3.0. And I definitely think Red has the talent to write something else good, but I've just given up expecting it. If it happens, it'll just be a really pleasant surprise.

Love will leave a mark >>> anything else on the standard version

and even it would have sounded average compared to anything on I&I

If we could only combine the first half of their last album, with the second half of this album, then we would have the perfect Red album.

They have the talent to make another great album, but as xtoxin noted, they may never get around to it.

The first few seconds of Glass House remind me of the ambient background music in Portal 2.

I like it.

I'm a long-time fan of this band and I've found that over time I've enjoyed each of their releases more than I did the one before it, so it didn't even cross my mind to hesitate before buying it when I saw it on a shelf today. I'd never heard the singles and didn't even know they had a new one out yet. I picked it up, smiled, and headed straight for my car to let it blare through my Focals.

...this is the most disappointing album of the year for me. I haven't heard the entire thing yet, but I also haven't heard a single truly enjoyable song among the first six or so. I cannot believe that Red dropped the ball so badly, after so many successful efforts. While I agree with the reviewer that Barnes' vocals are stellar here, they cannot support the derivative and uninspired song writing, nor the inane, repetitive choruses (that rarely fit the verse structure well, to boot).

Next time I see Red's name on an album cover I'm going to scour the Internet for reviews and singles before I commit a penny to it. I've never had to do that before. :/
