My only problem is you guys act like Hoobastank made this deliberatley to get fame. They've been playing this kind of music for over a decade, and every one seems to think that they just changed styles cut a video and made it, when they struggled forever to get noticed. Their fast songs are good, the slow ones are fillers, or at least feel that way. If they did all fast songs they'd produce a solid album, but that isn't their style I guess. Since they've got a vocalist that can actually sing.

Yo i completely agree. My sister is ****ing all goo goo'd over these guys, and i've heard her listening to the music, and it really lacks something. Don't know what, but it just curdles in ur brain like milk + vodka in ur stomach. I do, however, think that out of control is a pretty decent song.

Did people respond to that review at your school?

Um.... I bought their first album based on Crawling in the Dark, and it is (no exaggeration) the worst album I have ever bought. Their fast songs were boring, repetitive, and absolutely loatheable in every way. I have no memory of slower songs, so they must have been worse, as my brain completely blocked their existence.
What I want to know is this: Does anyone actually like the band? The only Hoobastank lovers I've met have only heard The Reason. Most people don't like Slipknot, much like Hoobastank, but Slipknot fans usually actually like Slipknot, not Wait and Bleed. Hell, even Good Charlotte fans have usually heard more than Lifestyles and The Anthem. Where is that with Hoobastank?

All the girls at skool are like "Oh my god! Its hoobastank!" People dont realise that there are better bands but the radio doesnt care, if they are payed to play the song then theyll do it. This is the decline of modern music, and its getting shi.tteir and simplier. If we lived in the 90's we would have Nirvana. The band who created grunge (IMO) would surely be better then pansies trying to copy it. With the death of Kurt Kobain, people tried to copy their style to revive it, eventually it evolved for the worst. I always wanted to live in the 60's and 70's cuz i can appreciate the music from that time and led zezpplin and hendrix rule. Unfourtnly, music these days is harder to respect.
To put it simply:
HOOBASTANK ARE A DISTRACTION FROM THE BETTER MUSIC WITH MORE EFFORT PUT INTO IT. LISTEN TO NIRVANA AND FOO FIGHTERS (IMO) FOR BETTER AND MORE EXPRESSIVE MUSIC, TURN AWAY FROM WHAT THEY TRY TO CRAM DOWN YOUR THROATS.
Off topic: Is it ok to use power chords if:
1. They are used moderatly and not used too much
2. They are not repetive
3. They are used to sound good.
Is that right?

Album Rating: 2.5
While this CD wasn't bad, it wasn't exactly good either.

A 1.5 was a bit harsh. I enjoyed their more rocky songs like 'Out Of Control','Just One' and 'From The Heart'.

Review seemed overly negative.
