Review Summary: One of the greatest albums of all time, up there with Sgt. Pepper, Pet Sounds, and What's Goin' On.

Seth Putnam is a voice of a generation, or at least he should be. He speaks out to so many people, and touches the hearts of so many fans, and it's saddens me that even after his death, his music has yet to be appreciated by critics and the general public. But Led Zeppelin and Queen weren't critically acclaimed during their time, were they?

Seth Putnam was a unique singer and songwriter. Instead of talking about the happy things in life, he talks about the dark and twisted things about life. What I like best about Seth Putnam is that he is not afraid to voice an opinion. He is 100% honest, 100% himself. Anal Cunt is everything punk has to offer, you could say.

Now, let's talk about this album. This album is essential Anal Cunt, and could be described as the greatest "*** You" to the world ever recorded. This album touches deep subjects such as Cancer, Love, Adoption, Growing Old, Death, Mental Illnes, and Homosexuality. Seth Putnam sings about these touchy subjects in a raw and angry way. You can hear his anger and emotion pour into the songs, it almost makes one want to weep. He isn't the greatest singer of all time, but his cracked voice reminds me Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Roger Waters.

The whole time, the album is fast and energetic, and incredibly fun to listen to. They may sound similar, but in the same way The Ramones first album sounds similar or Bo Diddly sounds similar. They take a beat, and change it around their own way.

Although the songs aren't long, they often tell us about the realities of life. To name some examples, on Because You're Old, Seth sings about how hard life can be for the elders. Then, on You've Got Cancer, Seth sings about a man who is slowly dying on cancer. They are all paragraph long stories, and they often leave a impact.

I can't see why anyone would hate Anal Cunt. Perhaps they don't like hearing about how horrible life really is, or perhaps they feel offended when someone decides to give an honest opinion on certain topics, or maybe they feel that Anal Cunt's music is just too loud. Whatever it is, they are surely missing out on what is the finest and most important band ever to be apart of the world of music. R.I.P Seth Putnam, you'll never be forgotten.

I don't think you understand. Anal Cunt never wanted to be big. Seth Putnam was not a "sell out" to the mainstream. That's what makes his music so pure.
