Mixing of this album is a crime against all that is metal. There are some well made remixes in youtube but they are sad in a sense, because after listening them it's impossible to go back to original album. Sad stuff, this could have been their masterpiece. There are so many good things in this album.

There's a remastered version of this on Spotify that I was listening to and they've got a bonus track of a live performance of for whom the bell tolls from '89 and lars is absolutely sucking so much ass the whole time lol. I can't believe they released it. I'm like "was that actually the best take from the tour"

God, Dyers Eve sounds so bad on the remaster of this

The tone of guitars is nice in this one. The problem isn't just the lack of bass. The drums sound like cart board boxes. How come the drummer comes and ruins the whole rhythm section? What gives Lars, you drunk danish bastard?
I think this could top everything they have done if it just have been produced like Puppets.

Not sure what you're talking about Eak, that sounded fine to me. Way better than some of his complete meme moments in the modern era.

"Not sure what you're talking about Eak, that sounded fine to me. Way better than some of his complete meme moments in the modern era."
His double kick patterns in the entire intro section are very sloppy, noticeably speeds up and slows down at parts, and there are several awkward tom fills that sound awful just to name a few things. I play drums so it probably sticks out to me more than a lot of people.
The blackened performance from that same set has some pretty awful moments too

I guess I'm used to hearing his modern performances that it overshadows it lol. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't that bad either. He has done waaaaay worse

Honestly, I feel like a lot of the modern performances I've heard of their older sound sound better lol. But in sure there are some stinkers out there too

I think what makes that for whom the bell tolls performance worse for me is just how easy the song is to play. I'm like how you gonna screw up your own easiest song to play like that lol

The only proper remix and remaster. Dude poured a lot into this, and it sounds phenomenal. Description says all.
